but to lose to Michigan State for the national championship.

I would love the former and think that if we have that matchup, we win the NC.

First half of season would have agreed with Vitale but the last half of the season, up and down. It takes only one down in the NCAAs and your done.

But you never know, it's why you play the game.

I agree Pryor. I just don't have a lot of faith in this team anymore. They can play out of their minds and win or they could completely lay an egg.

Vitale has been smokin crack

He could smoke a whole rock and still know more about basketball than you or I.

The Sooners damn near won the lottery with the bracket they got. Maybe, just maybe, some of yall could take a stab at enjoying Sooner sports instead of waiting to see them fail.

We're only guaranteed to see Buddy Hield one more time. Do try to enjoy it.

Well if you are so confident then I would suggest you put a lot of money on them.

I've posted something similar like this in the past about Dick Vitale, but I'll expand.

Dick Vitale versus Howard Cosell on personalities...

My sister worked at the DFW airport in a gift shop. Cosell bought a book and sis asked for an autograph. Wrong thing to do as he cussed and berated her to no end. Funny thing was my brother in law was an executive with Texas Instruments at their prime. She wasn't a lowly employee he called her, she was doing the job out of boredom.

Fast forward to Dick Vitale and my chance encounter in the Marriot Hotel in Daytona Beach Florida. I was surprised to see Dick and his family board the same elevator, along with two drunk college chicks. I didn't acknowledge him as it was obvious he was on a family vacation. The two drunk girls noticed him and wanted him to come to a spring break party. I'll never forget the evil eye his wife gave him when he was about to accept.

Well to the point, I got to talk to him on the beach and at the buffet breakfast and we only discussed basketball one time. He was a huge Waymon fan, not so much a Tulsa lead Nolan Richardson fan until I schooled him. (Tulsa won the NIT that year)

I think his wife liked my family really well. We exchanged brochures of things to do in Daytona and she was happy to talk to someone that didn't mention sports. His daughter and mine played on the beach together.

He is such a different personality in person than what you see on TV and I'm proud to say I met him.......

Oh, I forgot a gif........Well the dates are wrong, but the same area.........HA!

I heard some talking heads on ESPN on Sunday or Monday saying that there were only three for four teams capable of winning the national title. It was unanimous on all but one guy, that only Kansas, North Carolina or Michigan State had a chance. And one guy chimed in that he thought Kentucky could. But they claimed nobody else had even a small chance realistically. I just think that's nonsense.

I just don't think any of those four is so good that sometimes in the next three weeks, somebody couldn't jump up and bite them on the butt. I could see any of those four even falling short of the Sweet 16. And since UNC and UK cannot both advance past the Sweet 16, it is very possible to have a final four with no number one seeds. Not saying it will happen. But there is a bigger chance of that, than in a lot of years.

It is W I D E open.

I'm confused by your reply. He stated that Dick Vitale knows more about college basketball than any of us. That's true. He stated that OU appears to have gotten a favorable draw, so their is reason for optimism. I agree with him. He stated that we are only guaranteed to see Buddy play in an OU uniform one more time. This is true since OU could lose their first game. I don't see anything where he proclaims OU is going to win the national championship. He simply stated that Vitale's predication is not as absurd as was claimed by one poster.

I will say that we have a great coach, the best player, a decent supporting cast, and a favorable draw. Anything less than an Elite 8 will be a disappointment and a Final Four is a definite possibility. Get to Houston and anything can happen.

I hate to say this and I haven't looked thru the bracket, but I'm guessing first good team we play we are done.

Actually he said that some fans are waiting to see us fail. Based on the way we have been playing, I can't see us making the final 4 and beating Kansas. Could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I agree. We may not make the 2nd week, but I do think we have faced the toughest competition in the conference, that we'll see for at least a week. After that, it's about who else survives.

I really like the way Kansas has developed in the second half of conference play and the emergence of Brandon Graham makes them the frontrunner imo, but it's still March Madness.

I like that nobody is really giving our guys a chance though. No pressure after the first weekend. I really expect opponents not familiar with us to get caught playing a style we excel at, with a fast pace and an attempt to out shoot us. We haven't been burning up the net like the first half of the season but we're still the best shooting team in this tournament. Hield will shine and Cousins and Spangler will be consistent, but I think our key to a Final Four will be on Woodard hitting shots and Lattin staying out of foul trouble.

Is Lattin hurt? I saw something where he injured himself in practice.

No krinski won the lottery, Joe C is getting hammered for the seeding and who they let in

I think the bracket turned out to be pretty good. The only thing I'd disagree with was Indiana who won the Big Ten regular season as a five, and behind Kentucky. The BIG was a much better conference this year than the SEC.

Vitale also picked msu in the semifinals lol. No one is mentioning that but I will. He threw out some predictions just like everyone else. That's the beauty of March madness. I called us to lose vs the first good team we played, I'm glad I was wrong. Ou is hot right now and playing some really good ball

IF, IF, IF, IF we play defense like we did the first half tonight, we could very easily be hoisting the trophy in Houston...

Michigan State losing in the 1st round is arguably the biggest upset in tournament history. I think ESPN said that F'ed up like over a high 90s percent of brackets.

They played a great game and I hope they do it 2 more times. That's my kind of game. No anxiety the entire game for me. That was a rare game Oregon had that one spurt and that was it.
