Dez Bryant is not a bad guy. He has never done drugs. He isn't late to meetings. He may not have the model looks of a Brady, but the fact is, Tom Brady & our Adrian Peterson has had more off the field & on the field issues than Bryant.

If you guys don't like him because he's from OSU then say so, but to dislike him otherwise, IMO, some of you are mis-informed. The Rolling Stone just had a pretty damn good article on him from childhood to his most recent contract dealings with the Cowboys.

Ya I'm no Cowdoys fan or a Dez fan at all. But Dez was pissed about a reporter claiming he was happy about Lockette getting carted off the field from that concussion. If people would read the next 2 paragraphs after what the OP quoted in the article, they would read this,

Bryant appeared to be upset with a reporter who had posted a Vine of the wide receiver. The caption alleged Bryant was celebrating Lockette's concussion, but the Cowboys star vehemently denied the allegation.

Well believe the headlines as you wish. But I've read much deeper. I'll see if I can find the scoop on his arrest. Also...I'm also pretty sure that being questioned is not being arrested, much less charged and much further away from being found guilty.

Here you go... I do believe that he gets a bad wrap because of his NCAA dealings and now he's a Dallas Cowboy. This is one of the better articles I read on him. I encourage you to read it.

"Next thing, they're at my house raising their voices, and I had to step between 'em to try to squash it," she says. Indignant, Dez shoved her aside to continue shouting; Angela called the cops not because she'd been pushed but because "I couldn't calm Dez down no kind of way."

He was charged with a misdemeanor for domestic assault, though Angela urged the DA not to file: "Dez got a temper that he needed to get a hold of, not to get hit with a case." Bryant's charges were dismissed after he agreed to counseling. Since then he's had no other encounters with law enforcement.

Character concerns were a reason he slid to the Cowboys at 24th overall in the 2010 NFL draft, and he had some bumps in the road as a pro. He wasbooted from a mall for not pulling up his sagging pants, there were reports he owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to jewelers and there was an incident last year in which he allegedly hit his mother in the face with a baseball cap and ripped her T-shirt and bra, though she didn't press charges.

Broaddus, who served as the assistant director of pro personnel with the Cowboys from 1999-2004, talked about the "constant worry" of a front office dealing with a player like Bryant, but Bryant and the team deserve credit for him overcoming his past and some of the people that were bad influences to become one of the best receivers in the NFL.

The team put in measures to keep a watchful eye on Bryant off the field, including a security detail and a curfew, and he had a breakout season under those conditions. Bryant had 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, and is just 24 years old. The Cowboys took a chance on Bryant, and it seems to have turned out well.

That's what makes it hard to watch NFL, I root for whatever team that has former Sooners playing. The Cowboys act so arrogant, and like I said have attraction to players with character issues. Dez is a spoiled brat and Jerry probably gives him extra attention.

Dez has made mistakes most notably the incident with his mother. I would suggest considering his childhood with the microcosm of him being asked if his mother was a prostitute during a draft interview. The pressures of making it and being responsible for any number of people. His abilities on the field are unquestionable as well as his passion. Many are rubbed by his candor. The latest event he was vindicated by an opposing player's account. Dez has shown growth and done what has been asked of him by the Cowboys. I am not trying to change anyone mind just offer some perspective. I would guess many people have some of the same feelings towards someone like the Boz.

That's a great story, but unfortunately, not every future NFL player w/ a bad childhood has a new family to reach out and offer a great, stable, environment. Some get there irregardless and in doing so, in most cases, alot less polished and educated. But they get there.
