Depth chart for UTEP

There are several interesting things on the depth chart.

There are four running backs listed. None named Sawchuck.

For the first time in my memory, both holders for placements are the punters.

Beville is the backup quarterback.

Johnson and Coe are listed as co-starters at NT. Kelley and Redmond are listed as co-starters at DT.

The OLIne starters are Harrison, Mettauer, Rahm, Murray and Morris.

The wides starters are Wease, Mims and Farooq.

Mims, Gray and Bunkey-Shelton are listed as co-starters as punt returner. That's to me the biggest disappointment.

The co-backups at Mike linebacker Jake McCoy and Kanek. McCoy has made maybe six tackles in his walk-on Sooner career on special teams.

The Cheetah position, White is first on the depth chart and Harrington is number two.

Did Brent tap into Jaden Davis' potential?

David Ugwoegbu and Stutsman as the starting backers with White at the Cheetah makes me do some pondering.

Freshmen DB Gentry Williams and RB Gavin Sawchuk are left off the depth chart, but I doubt if they are being redshirted. They were not recruited to sit out a year.
Replacing NT Winfrey will be tough, but I think Johnson and Coe will provide an excellent rotation at that NT position.
Biggest question I have is how good the offensive line will be and if Bebenbaugh gets his linemen playing up to their recruiting rating potential. Most of these guys were 4-star recruits but in my view, they have been "sleeping giants" over the past two years for one reason or another. I can't see them remaining status-quo any longer....and with uncertainty at the QB depth behind Gabriel, it will be even more important to protect him.
While UTEP and Kent State won't be quality opponents, it will be important for OU to play error-free and go deep into the depth chart for playing time while getting good production from every player.
Nebraska's loss to Northwestern, as I see it, makes them a dangerous opponent-with more resolve than ever to win a big game to help reestablish the NU program among the elites. I expect an all-out effort from Frost's team......but if OU plays well and focused, it may not matter.
