Our current total defense ranking is 111th in the country. Our previous five year rankings were: 60, 28, 64, 101, and 68. You take a 60th rank defense and lose your defensive line to the NFL, then you have a 111th ranked defense. Clemson's defense is currently 28th. Their previous five years were: 2, 18, 3, 1, and 2. This is our future. Venables has not forgotten how to coach defense. We just don't have the Jimmies and Joes. I love our team, but they are not an elite group as evidenced by their play on the field and the aforementioned lack of preseason Big 12 or All American team members. In other words, TBOW left us with an empty sack.
