So since its a guessing game as to who we hire has a DC you guys wanting? Here's a suggestion move Brandon Hall to linebackers, and bring in Jim Leonhard to do safeties and DC.
Ugh……he can’t handle the head coaching job. I would be scared to death to let him try and do 2 jobs.I’m starting to believe that OU’s best option….and a very good option….is to have Venables serve as both head coach and defensive coordinator.
He can add other coaches as needed.
Before I write Venables off completely, I want to see how he does with his own recruits, a healthy roster, a solid offensive line, a solid offensive coordinator and above all, a wife who conquers cancer.Ugh……he can’t handle the head coaching job. I'm not optimistic about it. We have an equally tough schedule next season and I'm not sure we are improved enough at WR or oline to be that much better. If we have another losing season then that will be get for BV.Before I write Venables off completely, I want to see how he does with his own recruits, a healthy roster, a solid offensive line, a solid offensive coordinator and above all, a wife who conquers cancer.
I think we will be better at WR and the OL could be better with the two transfers (so far) and two elite freshman. And maybe the holdovers on the OL from last year will be better.I'm not optimistic about it. Agree. One would think BV would get this done after the recent failure. At this time, I’m more concerned about the open DC position in that Spring Training is set to begin in March. That’s going to be a very important hire that is very likely to have an impact whether Brent is going to be the HC in 2026.
