This class is looking good, four 4 star players, to go along with last years class. There's no excuse to be as bad as we were this past season. Cooks recruited these kids, now he needs to coach them.
Cooks' DBs might not look so bad if there was better pressure on opposing quarterbacks.Cooks has shown himself as incompetent - zero adjustments to stem the bleeding. We can only hope the new DC is a secondary specialist
I noticed that, he doesnt wrap up, I am more excited about the Ty DeArman kid. Hes a very physical player with great rangeHad to laugh when I saw the first play of Criddell’s “highlights” - comes up on a runner breaking through the line, hits him hard but falls off harmlessly and does not wrap up, as others drag the runner down as he gains 4 more yards. He’ll fit in just fine here....

Golding has coaching experience in the secondary as well.
Guess you havent done your homework on him. This is the first year he has coached linebackers.

Golding has also learned under Nick Saben and knows how to run a championship team.
You can learn a lot in one year.
Clemson's DC seems to be pretty good. Why not try to lure him to Norman?
How do you call him a proven DC? Delta st, Tusculum, se la and utsa. Wouldn’t exactly call them world beaters , and he is a co dc at Bama that doesn’t call the plays, he is basically like Kerry cooks at OU. Scalley albeit not as many years as a DC as at least been the head dc for a power 5 school and yes he did play in the secondary as well and oh by the way it was at a power 5 school, not a delta st. Now I am not trying to diss Golding but to say he is a no one and that Golding is proven is a bit of a stretchScalley may be a good choice, but i wouldnt actually call him a proven head dc. Hes only been a dc for 2 years. Golding has played in the secondary, coached the secondary and coached linebackers. This alone makes him a better candidate. Golding is a proven DC, has been a DC at 2 other schools before going to Bama.
