Fellas,
Wuff made a great point in the most recent sticky thread that someone needs to watch this kid.
In the meantime, we should probably watch ourselves. I am all for kicking around some humor and sarcasm and cynicism to take off the edge of a stressful day . . . or life. But this feels like a situation that could, if we don't hold it in check, leave many of us feeling stunned and full of regret. In short, I suggest we all abide by the old adage of "if you haven't got something nice to say, don't say anything at all."
In the meantime, those of you who can reach out to Dalton or his family, I hope you will do so to extend some encouragement. Please assure him that the vast, overwhelming majority of OU fans are pulling for him as a human, not just a player. We all want Dalton to do what is best for Dalton, no matter what.
I tried to find a twitter handle to reach out directly but came up empty. (Stonesman, can you find anything? Seriously asking.)
In the meantime, perhaps we can use this thread to convey our collective good will. I'm sure someone who knows Dalton or his family is on this board and it will get to him eventually.
To Dalton: Anyone who is honest can identify with what you are going through. We've all been confused. Heck, I am 40+ years old and still pull my hair out over what I am doing with my life. You aren't alone. Praying for you to have wisdom and peace.
