Dallas v Houston debate...recruiting edition

Dallas v Houston debates are common on various topics...

Pro Sports: Dallas historically, Houston currently
Better Place To Live: Dallas area IMO
Best Restaurant Scene: Probably Houston but debatable
Etc, Etc, Etc

But wanted to get Josh’s opinion on which city has historically been the better source for HS football talent @Josh_M ...probably splitting hairs, & Dallas is probably more important to OU because of proximity.

I realize it’s probably a year-to-year deal, but Josh in the time you’ve been covering Texas recruiting, which area feels like has produced more top-end talent IYO?

Dallas: 10 players (Wease #1)
Houston: 6 players (Green #2)
Other: 4 players

2018 Texas Top-20...
Dallas: 5 players
Houston: 9 players
Other: 6 players

2017 Texas Top-20...
Dallas: 8 players
Houston: 8 players
Other: 4 players

2016 Texas Top-20...
Dallas: 8 players
Houston: 6 players
Other: 6 players

Seems like it’s been pretty even at the top over the last few years.
