Despite the gloomy current forecasts by many on this board, there is still a very good chance that this class ends up being pretty special. Here's my thoughts on our current needs/commits/targets by position:

QB - Complete success with commitment of Rivals 100 QB Austin Kendall;

RB: - Complete success with commitment of 10th ranked RB Abdul Adams;

WR: - Position of need that has yet to be met. However, we are still involved with 4 star USC Commit Velus Jones & 3 star MSU Commit Zach Farrar. Given how hot our program is right now, and the AMAZING opportunity to come in and possibly replace Shepard, I have to think one of these guys is going to jump on this. Particularly when you consider that SC has 4 other highly rated WR commits (2 already enrolled) and loses nobody from their 2 deep at WR. The addition of graduate transfer Geneo Smith should help right away as we look to replace 2 starters;

OL - Complete success with commitment of 4 star Johncarlo Valentin & 3 star JUCO recruits Ben Powers and Ashton Julious. We needed help at OG and we got it. Anything else that happens is a luxury;

DL - Complete success with commitment of 4 star DE Amani Bledsoe. Still a very real shot at landing 4 star DT Chris Daniels which would be a luxury given how well we did at the position last year;

LB - Position of need that has been partially met. Even though it sounds like Youngquist may not sign we still have an underrated 3 star in Jon-Michael Terry & 2 JUCO players in Doucet & Beal. Still have a very good shot at landing Caleb Kelly and/or Mark Jackson. A commitment by either of these blue-chips will make this a complete success. It would also put us in the best position we have been in at the position since before Brent Venables s$$t the bed leaving us with nothing in the cupboard;

DB - Complete success with commitments of 4 star Parrish Cobb, 3 star Parnell Motley, 4 star Jordan Parker and 3 star Chanse Sylvie. Also have a shot at landing superstar DB Jared Mayden II which would give us, quite possibly, the best group of DB's we have ever had on campus.

Now I realize it is not the popular thing to be positive, or even rationale, about the current state of our recruiting but I believe the foregoing demonstrates that we are doing pretty damn well and stand a good chance of closing strong and ending up with a very good class that fits our needs to a T.

In closing, I urge everyone to get out there and help our staff by staying in our commits/targets ears on social media and making sure they don't forget how good things are going in the Sooner Nation right now.
