By day's end we will be announced as one of 4 teams who will play in the 2nd installment of the CFB Playoff.
Additionally, we are undisputed Big 12 Champs and it looks like we will keep our wunderkind OC even though SC should have hired him (thank you SC from the bottom of my heart).
Our program is now on better footing than it has been in many years and things are looking better every day.
While I felt confident Coach Stoops had made the right decisions in order to get things back on track, I could have never imagined having this level of success so quickly.
I have long been an avid supporter of the individuals who guide our program but I think this year they have outdone themselves.
Due to their efforts, and the players who have bought in hook, line & sinker, we are back to being one of the top programs in cfb.
I expect the next month to yield more good news in the areas of recruiting and coach retention so we are all in for a very nice Holiday Season.
I intend to enjoy every moment and urge everyone to do the same-this is a special time for OU football.
I don't care who we are matched up with in the first game (even though my better half went to BAMA and I LOVE beating them, probably more than I should) because I believe this team is focused on the task at hand and will be ready to compete against any foe.
While I am cautiously optimistic about our chances, I am in no way over confident regardless of whomever we play-these are damn good teams and any of them could beat us if we don't play our best.
As a result, I don't plan on talking s$$t and puffing my chest out at each and every opportunity and hope that my fellow Sooners will do the same.
Talk is not gonna do a damn thing to stop the great players and teams we will face in a month.
Don't take this to mean we shouldn't be proud and let people know it-just means I think we ahould all endeavor to be as classy as the coaches and players we root our a$$es off for.
Hope everyone enjoys the ride however long it lasts and is ready for more excitement in the future because I think our future is as bright as it has been in a long time.
