I think the coolest thing for an “olds” like me Saturday, honestly, will be seeing so many of the former OU stars back for the Spring Game festivities.
Haven‘t been to one in a while since we live in MO, but I remember one about 10 years ago we attended when all the alums were on the field at halftime passing a mic to each other to introduce themselves (I remember a former star lineman saying “Jammal Brown ... 2000-2004 ... and I never lost to Texas!” to the loudest roar of the crowd.
Two questions ... has anyone heard if that’s part of the plan again (don’t know if it’s a tradition that has continued recently?)
And two, I’ve heard (of course) Baker, Kyler, Bradford, Jason White and others mentioned, but have you seen names of any of the 70s-80s former stars or other more recent stars who are confirmed to attend? (sorry if I missed this in another post ... heard a few names on Gabe and Teddy’s podcast and haven’t got to the new Scoop pod yet).
Going forward, I wish OU would give each alum who comes back every year a new OU jersey with their name and number on it and ask them to wear it all day, just for our fan ID purposes.
I mean, I doubt I’d recognize my childhood idol, Tinker Owens, now without him wearing an Owens jersey.😀
