Ben Powers is a colossal human being at 6-5, 315+ pounds, but he carries very little bad weight with it. In fact, it looks to me like he can add more bulk in his lower body. He plays tackle predominantly for Butler C.C., but he’s a definite guard at Oklahoma as he lacks the feet, arm length, and athleticism to handle Big 12 pass rushers.
Does a nice job timing his move from double-teaming to releasing into the second level. However, Powers has the potential to be a mauler at guard with his strength. He’s at his best when he stays low in his stance and explodes with a terrific punch. That initial punch he utilizes often wins the battle before it begins with the defender as there’s not much they can do after that. At his best when he lands, struggles when he becomes off-balance. Plays with a nasty streak and will definitely finish his blocks.
^ Stays low. Good initial punch. Finishes the block. Nasty streak.
