Eating lunch and look up and he’s talking about Kingsbury trading Rosen and taking Kyler as the #1 pick in the draft.

Silly and pretty unbelievable but weirder things have happened.

Guess we’ll see if Kliff Kingsbury is a man of his word.

Back in October, speaking about Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray, the then-Texas Tech coach said he’d take him with the No. 1 overall pick. Of course, at the time, Murray was planning on heading to spring training with the Oakland A’s after the season with the Sooners.

A Heisman Trophy-winning season, and things have apparently changed.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser, the A’s expect Murray to declare for the NFL Draft by Sunday’s deadline. With the scouting combine in February, that likely would mean the baseball career is on hold.

And now you have Kingsbury, who finds himself holding that No. 1 pick as the Arizona Cardinals' new head coach.

“Kyler, I mean, he’s a freak, man,” Kingsbury said in October, via Eric Kelly of KLBK. "Kyler is a freak. I’ve followed him since he was a sophomore in high school. Just think the world of him and what he can do on a football field. I’ve never seen one better in high school and he’s starting to show it now at the college level. I don’t have enough good things to say about him. He’s phenomenal.

“I’ve never seen him have a poor outing. Not one, which at quarterback is impossible to do but he’s done it. I’d take him with the first pick of the draft if I could. I know he’s signed up to play baseball but he is a dominant football player and I would take him with the first pick.”

Murray was selected ninth overall in the MLB draft by the A’s. If he’s a first-round NFL pick in April, that would be historic.

So ... the Cardinals drafted QB Josh Rosen with the 10th overall pick in 2018. But would Arizona really consider drafting Murray at No. 1 and trading Rosen off to the highest bidder?

Rosen is no Kyler Murray. More or less a wasted draft pick on him last April. Hate to see Kyler go, but to be potentially the #1 NFL draft pick....just wow. And a first round MLB one too.

Could Murray be the first ever player to get drafted in the 1st round by both the NFL and MLB ? As far as I can remember I don’t recall any player to do that. Sure others have been drafted by 2 Pro sports but not sure any has ever been 1st round picks in 2 pro sports.

Anyone think of another?

Cards are about to waive the white flag with Rosen. The fact that we have had two Heisman Winning and possible first picks in the NFL draft and haven’t made it to the NC is a reflection that Riley better start nutting up in big games and making better decisions. No more deferring to Bama and squibing against GA dropping 8 in coverage against Jake Fromm with Baker Mayfield.

You obviously don't live in Los Angeles. We were told for years out here how Rosen was a football prodigy of the likes never seen before. Have faith, man!

Sweet jesus god in heaven, please let this happen. I'm a die hard cardinals fan, and was heart broken last year when we didn't get mayfield.

KK can redeem us though! Make it happen Kliff!

Grinch should fix these problems.
