Congrats to the Gators. Having both women and men in the finals of the CWS is of merit. I wanted LSU to win and I think they could have. Ok, I played HS baseball at a Class C high school. Meaning it was hard to get 10 guys to go out for the team. In short, guaranteed playing time. This aside, we had a very good coach and often went to the regionals playing towards state champs (again C class - under 100 students in high school). We played aggressive but were often coached on "preserving opportunities". LSU flat out overran their opportunities trying to force runs. Trying to take home unforced with one out and a hot grounder to first base is an unforgivable sin when down 2 to 1 in the 8th. Let them take it to first and preserve the runner on third. I'm done now.
