Cody Thomas ?

Appears the door on Cody Thomas returning back to football this fall is not completely closed. From article in the Daily Oklahoman this morning:

"OU football coach Bob Stoops has said he would welcome Thomas back if he chose to return to football in the fall, when he would be a redshirt junior.

Entering Thursday’s Big 12 opener at Texas Tech, Thomas is batting .190 with two home runs and 16 RBIs."

Cody not doing so hot on the diamond. Would love to see him come back and back up Baker Mayfield.

He hasn't played in over a year. It might take some time to get his timing back. He has this stubborn streak in him. Pro baseball scouts considered him a first round draft pick potentially as a pitcher because he had a really live arm. He wants to be an outfielder and he's not nearly as good a propect as a position player. But he has hit a couple of dingers. He needs some more time most likely.

But once the conference gets going, he needs to make some progress. He has catching up to do.

Depending on how well Kendall performs in spring and August drills, the decision may be more of a Stoops' call than a Thomas' call. Time will tell.
