Yes I did it and Baker and the Team made me eat my words. I panicked and didnt have faith in our QB. Thats why Im in a chair and our coaches are on the sidelines making the decisions. But I couldnt be any happier. Its amazing how well crow tastes when you wash it down with a win.

I don't like it that Baker runs to the right so much but was thrilled to see on the highlights that in O/T the OC figured out how to give him the choice, he saw it: straight in for 6!

I think you might talk to the guards about that.

I was at a sports bar in Allen,, and we thought that Baker was playing very well. He was mostly not getting much help, especially from the OLine. When you HAVE to get rid of it early, the defense can sit on the timing throws and not worry about getting beat deep.

Baker missed a throw or two for sure. But that was almost like Josh at the end of 2000, willing the team to a win. Baker didn't have a sore elbow. But he had one of the two worst OLines of the Stoops era. He made a half dozen great throws last night that the receiver turned into an incompletion.

Todd Blackledge, who agreed with you, called for the captain to come in, but I disagreed with both of you. Baker is the man moving forward, until he gets hurt.

It seemed like Baker was running for his life for a good portion of the game. Knight is faster so I can understand why that thought might have crossed someone's mind. It did mine

I learned a couple of years ago that the secret to happiness in life is to never read the game threads. So I assume there were people calling for Knight to be brought in there. But Mayfield played a good game in the first three quarters and played lights-out in the 4th & OTs. Penalties, mistakes, offensive line play, UT defense, dropped passes... those aren't his fault. I cannot understand why anyone would think Knight is the answer. Knight is our backup QB. Period.

BTW - I did look at the 5th page of the game thread when I saw YourCrimsonNightmare make a post. To me, that is great "breaking news" in itself.

No, it's really bad form to bench a guy the first or second game.
You'll shatter his confidence to a point of you'll have less at your disposal than if ya hadn't done it.

I don't think it would be considered "benching" Mayfield. The Tenn defense was forcing him to run a lot and Knight is the better of the two in that department. I wasn't calling for Knight but I can understand the thought process of anyone that was thinking that way.

Hey man I'm right there with ya. I was against it at first in the game thread, but then panic started to set in and found myself open to the idea. Lol :D
Looking back now it sounds like an awful idea with how everything eventually turned out. ;)

Why would anyone want to put Trevor in when he has proved he can't handle the pressure. Plus I was never impressed with his running. Baker runs as well and does it smarter. Imo

Agree. I have always read/heard that Knight could move much better than Baker. I'm not sold on that at all.
