I don't know what happened, but when Caleb took over, players on both sides of the ball started playing at a high level, like they'd run through a wall for him. If that doesn't show Caleb has major leadership skills, I don't know what does. I was shocked to see the comparison stats between him and Rattler.
100+ yds vs 500+ yds
1 TD vs 5 TDs
OU plays at home next week vs TCU. If Rattler starts, the crowd will chant "We want Caleb" just as soon as he throws an incompletion, goes 3 and out, or turns it over. I don't see how you can put a person in a no-win situation like that. Caleb is going to have to be the starter and if he struggles, then you put Rattler back in the game.
Either way, if Rattler becomes the permanent #2, you know he won't be back next year, he's a starter and won't accept a backup role, so where does that leave us if Caleb gets hurt, I mean he's a dual-threat QB so he's going to run, which increases his chance of getting injured.
