He opted out, but wonder if he gets back into mix next year? This with Stevenson likely to move into draft pool? Any thoughts on this scenario?

Got to admit,,and yes I know it was his choice and he had the option to opt out but, it did bother me and still does that he said no to playing. Especially after ISU and KSU had beat OU and Rhamondre still sidelined. He would have made all the difference in the world those first 4 weeks.

Brooks like Stevenson has that extra edge...to blast into holes, run over defenders, break free with speed that McGowan & Pledger clearly lack. Sure hope Brooks is back. Wheaton if he does decide on the Sooners, will need some part time play as he learns the system...including the critical blocking and catches out of the backfield. The Sooners need more of power backs to work with their OL..who remain inconsistent.

If things work out, OU is in on 2-3 elite offensive linemen recruits, which from what I saw against Baylor, is now a pressing need.
Wheaton seems to be the only RB OU is in on, but since he's a 5-star recruit and an Alabama target....especially if he's an Alabama target....that's not a bad thing.
I have no idea of Brooks returning or not, but I'm not counting it.

CT do you think the issue was more with lack of practice and prep and no coach B on the sidelines or Baylor just dominating our Oline due to their talent? Overall, our OLine has taken a step back this year but I know much of that has been spoken to by the multiple position changes and absences due to COVID.

I have no idea what was with OU's o-line vs Baylor, but while there seems to be some talent, there also seems to be errors (mental errors, physical lapses) by linemen I thought were very solid.
What I know for sure is that with the elite QB's that keep entering Riley's program, there also has to be elite linemen to protect them. If all goes well in the next few days, OU will have at least 2-3 more stud linemen in what is already a very good recruiting class.
Athlete Billy Bowman's high school teammate at Denton, Ja'Tavion Sanders (DE), is wavering on his commitment to Texas. He would be perhaps OU's top defensive commitment if he signs with OU.
I'm done being concerned if OU has to postpone/cancel a few games. It's recruiting that has my interest right now and I'm optimistic the 2021 class will be very strong.....that will be my birthday and Christmas presents this month.

Long shot but Demarco is in on the kid from Michigan. He is most likely the best RB. In this years class. It will be tough to steal the kid but maybe.

Last year killed us, maybe the deepest RB class in a decade. And we missed on all of the top 10-15. Kind of like the 2 years before with DBs, we missed everyone.

Seth McGowan was a top 15 RB last year and was rated the 13th best nationally. I think he was rated among the top 2 or 3 in the state of Texas. We can’t judge him fairly on this season with everything that happened, as we can’t judge other players. McGowan will have a good college career barring injury.

Can't get too excited about a player that would "opt out" on their team. I like people who honor their commitment
