I think Brent will rebound next season. No I'm not predicting 10-11 win season but I do think Brent will be a better clock manager and an overall better HC. In my mind our first year into the SEC we will only be about "half built" to do so. It may be a bit rough but I see a winning record. I do think Jackson Arnold will be a huge part in our entrance to the SEC. My fingers are crossed but I see 8-9 wins next year and am hoping for 8-9 more our first year in the SEC!!

I am guardedly optimistic. I know Brent wants good people, not just good players.

I'm a born again guy since 1970. So I applaud Brent's effort is SOUL mission and elsewhere. But I just hope we're not turning away great players because of religious views. I doubt it, but I do fear it just a little. There are a lot of quality players who are good students and good people, but might be taken aback a little by what might be part of the deal at OU.

We'll see how it shakes out. I don't think Brent did a great job in his first year. There were a lot of factors. And there has been a ton of turnover. I hope it was necessary and a step toward the greatness we all seek and desire.

What else we got these days but optimism brother? In two months I'm relocating to Rockport tx and spending the majority of my time making folks happy with baskets full of fish. 👍

That's down there in one of the prettier parts of the state, as long as the hurricanes stay away.

I prefer less pretty, and more inland, far enough from the hurricanes, and all we get in that part of the year, is an increase in the chances of rain in the dry season. But good luck. A few really good football players in that part of the state. I remember when Plano beat Gregory-Portland for the AAA state title in 1971, my junior year at OU. I think they're just up the road, or maybe the coast from Rockport.

Venables’ is guiding this team in the right direction and the 6-7 record of last season reflects the diminished talent level he had to work with and not his ability as a coach. (Sorry, Skip Bayless).
And the blowout loss to Texas, as far as I’m concerned, had more to do with OU playing without a quarterback, for all intents and purposes, and in fairness to backup QB Beville. I knew OU would be decisively defeated before this game and five minutes into it, I sensed it would get very ugly for OU. But even in the wake of that game I believed Venables was the right coach for a transitional OU team. And I’m convinced of it now more than ever. Venables has the ability to get OU back. OU fans need the ability to be patient.

Gregory and Portland are 20 minutes or less from Rockport. Them folks farm cotton. They line up the highways with tractor trailer sized bundles. Miles of bundles.

I agree. Beville is a square peg in a round hole at OU. He looked like Frankenstien's monster in the 100 meter dash last year. He was two steps behind on every play. It was more than painful to watch.

On another note: I heard that Dasan McCullough has completely separated himself from the field with his game. If allowed, he will completely overshadow all other LBs in our lineup.

I read that and thought, "who?" So in case anyone else didn't know who Dasan was either....

And he was a National Top 100 recruit in high school.
