Ever since we learned about BV's recruiting strategy upon his arrival in Norman, I've been curious to see how successful it would be. I recently looked up the number of recruits who have decommitted since 2023. I didn't include the recruits from the 2023 class who decommitted when TBOW left. Here are the numbers from the 2023, 2024, and so far in the 2025 classes.
OU: 7 (4 in 2023)
Georgia: 17 (7 in 2023 alone)
USC: 14 (4 this year already)
Ohio State: 12
Oregon: 9
Texas: 9
LSU: 12
ND: 14 (8 in 2023)
Alabama is difficult to assess. They had five total decommits in 2023 and 2024, but I didn't count the ones after Saban left in 2025. However, it seems like BV's strategy is effective.
