* Venables speaks at length on devleoping relationships with players they are committing.
* Venables said he was up front and honest with players he was recruiting while still working Clemson ... says it's important to be transparent ... said the decommits from Clemson were hurtful because he knew they needed the decommits.
* Venables called Kobie McKinzie and incredibly bright young guy ... 'he's had as much loyalty to this program ... being committed for two years" ... "if you're going to be a great defense it has to be strong inside and up front through the safety"
* Venbables told every player he made an in-home with he didn't have a problem with them re-evaluating their options.
* Venables credits Jeff Lebby and the offensive coaches for efforts over the weekend hosting the likes of Nick Evers, Jayden Gibson and Alton Tarber. BV says his knowledge of Deerfield Beach, Florida really helped with the (quick) recruitment of Alton Tarber. AT is about simplicity and physical toughness on the field.
* Venables says he's really excited about attacking the February Sigining Period, calling it a developmental sport and knowing guys can emerge during this period. Mentions the 2000 signing class as an example of finding gems late ... says some guys have already been identified.
* BV says they have already talked to a number of possibly transfer options ... "it's important we do a great job of vetting what kind of people we are bringing in" ... mention character & culture of lockerroom important.
* Venables on Caleb Williams: Caleb's been great. Had multiple conversations with him ... He's had an opportunity to get around Jeff Lebby and our offensive staff quite a bit.

* Says they'll have a quick morning practice on Thursday with REAL bowl prep starting on Friday morning.
* Calvin Thibodeaux, Jamar Cain and Brian Odom will be the coaches that return to the Sooners staff for the Alamo Bowl. Connor McQueen will help in the offensive room. Ryan Dougherty will coordinate special teams. Ty Darlington will be coaching tight ends.
* Besides the four that have opted out (Bonitto, Winfrey, Asamoah and Thomas) ... Stoops doesn't expect anymore ... "there's value in finishing for the program, your teammates and yourself"
