Bob Stoops: 1st ballot HOF’r.

Hall of fame means who is famous. No doubt Romo is more famous than Jamelle, even in Oklahoma. And Tony was a high quality Division II player. The first freshman quarterback to win an NC, will eventually get into the HOF. Eventually.

Great post. It’s about who’s famous and popular. Barry Switzer had a winning percentage of .837 compared to Bob Stoops’ .798, and Barry won 3 National Championships to Bob’s one. Barry wasn’t liked by a lot of his fellow coaches, and we all know about his problems the last couple years. Bob was the ultimate gentleman, liked by almost everyone. Bob won more football games than Barry, but he coached longer and had the advantage of playing more games most years because of the CCG and the final 4 playoff. I was proud of Bob and am happy for him now, but Barry having to wait 20 years to become a member of the HOF while Bob is elected within 5 years is another slap in the face for Barry.

Unfortunate. In the past, HOF voting was a little more honest and represented real accomplishments.

I agree with everything said here though. It just used to be better.
