Big XII football All Conference team announced Wednesday

Hubbard is offensive player of the year. James Lynch, Baylor's defensive tackle is defensive player of the year. Hubbard and CeeDee Lamb were the only two players selected first team unanimously.

OU had four players on the first team. Lamb, Jalen Hurts and Creed Humphrey on offense. Kenneth Murray on defense.

There were some surprises. Gabe Brkic who is perfect on placements this year, only made the second team. A more pleasant surprise was LaRon Stokes being named defensive newcomer of the year.

Other second team Sooners included Jeremiah Hall, Kennedy Brooks and Adrian Ealy on offense. Neville Gallimore, Ronnie Perkins and Parnell Motley made second team defense.

Somehow, Hall was named as a wide receiver.

That is fair to say. But he did play in every conference game. So, shouldn't that be the only thing that counts?

Probably. Just offering a guess as to why he wouldn't have been first team with him being perfect with many opportunities.

It's hard for Brkic to improve on perfect, but l guess if you're an OU kicker, it's expected.
