The top four teams in the conference still have a great chance to make the CCG. One thing that happened today, is that an OU -Texas rematch is very unlikely.
OU and WVU are in the best shape with only one loss. But either are vulnerable depending on how the final game goes, and how the Texas Iowa State game goes in two weeks.
If OU beats the Mountaineers, then WVU would be out if Iowa State wins in Austin and wins their other two games against Baylor and KState, both in Ames.
If West Virginia beats OU, then OU is out if Texas wins out. Their three games are at Tech next week, and after hosting Iowa State, they got to Lawrence, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Kicks at 11 a.m. If Texas wins out and OU wins out, which would include beating WVU, then there will be an RRR rematch only if West Virginia loses another game besides to OU. Their other two are TCU at home next week and at Stillwater.
If Iowa State wins out, then they need an OU win over WVU. That would leave them in a two way tie with the Mountaineers, whom they already beat.
Now there are other possibilties. If OSU were to win Bedlam, then OU would be out of the national chances, but they could still make the CCG, but likely a three way tie would be involved. Then, head to head point differentials would apply.
So some things got settled today. West Virginia and OU control their own destiny with one conference loss each. Assuming normal otherwise, then there would be a rematch a week later in Dallas IF WVU wins and Iowa State wins in Austin. Or if OU wins and Texas beats the Cyclones.
