The Big XII sucks in basketball. No way we deserved four sweet 16 seeds.
Part of it was first round officiating. Iowa State had their best players watching when the other guys fell down with small contact and fouls were called. Baylor got raped three times in the last two minutes when the same contact sent the other guys to the line. Baylor had an offensive rebound after a missed free throw by their best free throw shooter, and the rebounder got hammered twice with no call, and GaSt got the ball back for the winning shot.
Ga State had five fouls called in the first 18:30 of the second half. It's easier to come back when you allowed to be physical when the other guys aren't allowed to be. But Baylor sent a very nervous free throw shooter to the line with one and one in the last minute. And their best guy choked. You could see it in his eyes while he was waiting for the official to throw him the ball.
Oh well. Maybe the stripes gave GaState some breaks because their coach was coaching with a torn achilles. You've heard about the celebration injury. Yeah, him.
