The Big Xll Championship is out there for the taking. The conference doesn't have a dominant team and it appears every team has a few warts. However, OU has three advantages that no other team can match, Perine, Andrews & Mixon. OU has two weeks to prepare to go to Ft. Worth and release their frustrations on the frogs.

Lincoln Riley is not a dumb man. He will have to fight his own belief in his pass first system and "get with the program" and get those players the ball as much as possible. I know we hope OU will run the ball, but OU must run the ball if they want to win, period. The lack of elite talent at wide receiver combined with the unfortunate play at QB is killing this team.

The defense is a different story. Imo, OU needs to bring the house and attempt to destroy QBs as often as possible. Why? Because the current system is getting beat and there's nothing to lose anyways. Mike Stoops can't manufacture a sound DB when there isn't one to be made. Cobb is just inexperienced, Austin is in the same boat, Quick wasn't terrible but isn't fundamentally sound either.

I wouldn't mind if MS allowed Thomas to move to which ever side a teams best WR is aligned. Unfortunately, the BiG Xll will have more than one on each team going into conference play, more reason to kill the QB before he gets set.

With all that said, OU is 0-0 in conference play and can win it with a little Sooner Magic, a large dose of Mixon & Perine with a nice side of Andrews to round out the meal. I think OU has a 40% chance to go 9-0 and head to a NY6 Bowl. Never doubt the heart of a champion.

9-0 won't happen; might want to rewatch Hoiston and TOSU games. Got caught up in the preseason hype again after telling myself that I wouldn't after the 2014 debacle. 2016 could even be worse. At a point where I'm almost hoping for a losing season so the current coaching staff will get fired. Just beat Texas and OSU.

Wildcats didn't have the man power to slow the Sooner Express. Keep trucking OU. 3-0 and still hungry for more. Boomer!

Texas Tech brought their best, but Mixon Magic gunned them down like all the rest. Great offensive performance. Bend but don't break defense worked out once more.

You might want to re-think your post as OU won't be going to Ft Worth to play TCU as we have already beat the frogs in Ft Worth. We travel to WVU and get both Baylor and OSU at home. So, I think we have the easiest path to the conference championship. But, we have to beat ISU in Ames first.

You might want to keep up. When he first posted this, OU was to go to Tea Cup in a couple weeks... You might try looking at the dates on the bottom of posts...

I'd have to go w/ WVU on that one. They get both OU & BU @ home, & although it was a loss, they've already got OSU out of the way. The 'horns pulling a fast one on them would help tremendously.

6-0. OU won a gritty dog fight with Iowa State. Injuries won't stop OU. Bad tackling won't stop OU. Bad defense won't stop. This team won't stop until they have vanquished all. 9-0. No exceptions.

Ha. Good work on this thread sir. Way to keep the faith...

When you have such excellent QB play, like OU does, you're going to have a chance to win every game. Mayfield is just money.

It becomes a matter of "can your defense make a few plays and get off the field at least SOME of the time... lol..

OU did that today, for it's tenth (tenth!) conference championship of the Bob Stoops era... great day to be a Sooner fan!
