Cal v. TCU - Hard to watch matchup between two mediocre teams. Patterson gets 3 weeks to prepare for a Cal team that didn’t compete much in the PAC. Frogs are able to muck out a victory in the Cheez It Bowl. 23-20.
Baylor v. Vandy - The first of several Conference collisions this Bowl season. Both bottom feeders in their respective conferences, with little to no following. Baylor surprises the Commadors and 13,000 in the stands in Houston and cruises to a 41-24 victory.
WVU v. SYR. - A potential Sweet 16 matchup in the Spring. But in the fall West Virginia is a good team with some tough losses and Syracuse is an average team with some easy wins. They’ll have no answer for Grier and that offense. 52-20 ‘Eers.
Bonus Pick!
Houston v. Army - Not exactly a sexy matchup but I wouldn’t kick it out for eatin crackers. Army runs the traditional triple option, UH runs the more modern Air Raid. Army is 9-2 and very solid this year and runs the option to a tee. However advantage for the Coogs because they get 3 weeks to practice and prepare for this offense. When the dust clears the Cougars upset Army 31-21.
