Elite talent simply doesn't want to play in this conference. Yes, the success of this season will show up much more in the 2017 class than the 2016 class, however, we should be seeing momentum for 2016 go up, not down as we near NSD. The Big 12 is a handicap next to our brand and tradition. Boren, Castiglione, and Stoops need to recognize that it is time to jump ship. I'm not sure on the logistics and legality of switching conferences, but Boren's recent comments about how to "save" the Big 12 indicate it isn't on their radar as much as it should be. We will be able to contend every year in this conference, but the longer we wait, the bigger the talent deficit will be when we do the inevitable and switch conferences. We don't want to wait 10 years and be a second rate B1G team.
