#22 is loaded. There's six players who would probably get votes and I probably could have added more guys to the HM list. There's two All Americans on the HM list and those two guys might be most deserving but I went with the more recent players. I originally had Leake as an option and Overstreet on the HM list but if these polls have told me anything it's that nobody votes for the old players.
I think Quentin would have been an AA in 2002 if that year wasn't so loaded with well known backs who had big seasons. Larry Johnson, Willis McGahee, Darren Sproles, Chris Brown, Anthony Davis, and Steven Jackson all put up over 1,500 yards that year.
Marcus Dupree
All Conference (1982)
1,500 yards, 16 tds
Quentin Griffin
All Conference (2000, 2002)
5,000 yards, 50 tds
David Overstreet
1,900 yards, 15 tds
Joe Wylie
All Conference (1970)
1,840 yards, 20 tds
Plato Andros (All American 1946)
Buddy Leake (All American kicker in 1952, also part of the legendary OU backfield with All American Eddie Crowder, Heisman winner Billy Vessels, and All American FB Buck McPhail. All four members of the backfield made AA in 1952.)
Keenan Clayton (185 tackles, 16 TFL, 6 sacks, 3 ints)
Kevin Thompson (starting safety in the late 80's, 9 interceptions)
Definitely one of the best numbers in OU history.
