Early signing day for the 2024 class is approaching, and barring any sudden change the Sooners will sign both of their 2024 commits on November 8th. As of right now, it does not seem like the Sooners will look to add another commitment to their 2024 class which currently consists of Dayton Forsythe and Kuol Atak. The Sooners staff will now begin shifting their focus to primarily the 2025 class. Here are some names in the 2025 class the Sooners are currently recruiting.
Last weekend's visitors
- Starting off with one of the Sooners visitors last weekend, Kash Polk. Polk is a 6'9" Wing with a 6'11" wingspan and hails from Argyle, Texas. Polk said he loved his visit last weekend and added that Oklahoma is in his top 3 right now. The Sooners have done a great job in this recruitment and have put themselves in a good spot. Other schools such as Nebraska, LSU, UConn, Michigan, and more have been recruiting Polk. Personally, I like where the Sooners stand here.
- Another visitor from the past weekend was two-sport athlete Alec Blair. Blair visited for both basketball and baseball. The Concord, Connecticut native is a 6'6" SF on the court and plays OF/1B on the diamond. Blair wants to play both sports in college and Oklahoma seems to be giving him that opportunity. Oklahoma is two-sport U and that will go a long way in Blair's recruitment. It is still early, but the Sooners seem to be in a good position here and it would not surprise me if Blair was the first addition to Oklahoma's 2025 class.
- 4-star top-100 G/F Terrion Burgess also visited this past weekend. The Benton, Arkansas native was offered by the Sooners back in July. Arkansas is the early favorite right now and it will be very difficult for anyone to pull him away. Oklahoma, Michigan, and Ole Miss have also been heavily in contact with Burgess. I do not think Burgess will leave the state of Arkansas, however, Moser and the Sooners aren't giving up.
Other names the Sooners are pursuing in 2025.
- The Sooners are in the mix for five-star and the #12 player in the country Trey McKenney. Like any five-star recruitment, it will be a battle. Rutgers, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, and just about every other team in the country are recruiting McKenney very hard. McKenney has expressed interest to me about visiting the Sooners. He will discuss a potential visit with the Sooners coaching staff. It would take a lot for the Sooners to get anywhere near the driver's seat in this recruitment, but a visit would be a step in the right direction. Oklahoma's staff was in to see McKenney a few times in September.
- PF Kaidon Rayfield out of Oklahoma City is definitely a name to watch for the Sooners. Rayfield was offered back and July and has remained in contact with the Oklahoma staff on a consistent basis. He went and watched practice two weeks ago and will take an unofficial soon. He is in-state and exactly the type of player Moser would like to add. Definitely would keep an eye on him. Other schools in which Oklahoma is competing with in this recruitment are Oklahoma State and LSU.
- 4-star Isaiah Sealy visited the Sooners last month. Sealy was offered in September and the Sooners have made the trip out to Springdale to see him. Moser and the Sooners are doing a good job in this recruitment, it is just going to be tough beating out Arkansas. Sealy has been on the Razorbacks radar for quite some time and is quite literally in their backyard. I'm not ready to write this one off, I think Moser could possibly make something happen here. But again, It will be hard to out recruit Arkansas here. Missouri is also a player in the Sealy recruitment.
- 4-star Patton Pinkins was offered this summer and he has continued contact with Oklahoma. He says he and Coach Humphrey text often. Ole Miss and Texas Tech are players in this recruitment, and Tech specifically will be hard to beat.
- Oklahoma is battling primarily with Arkansas and Kansas State primarily for 4-star PF Nigel Walls. Current Sooner Jacolb Cole has a relationship with Walls and that could bode well for the Sooners. Walls mom attended Arkansas, which is important to note. Jerome Tang and Kansas State have done a great job building relationships with recruits and that will help them in this recruitment as well.
