not sure how that happened, but he lives in Bham and his daughter married one of he bama QBs....sounds like it may be over before it starts...good luck

think what you guys want...I'm not trolling...the 3rd base ump is from Mountain Brook, AL (Bham suburb).....doubt he would do anything to throw the game, but it's really interesting the ncaa keeps making these mistakes...Auburn fans have been dealing with this crap for years...just thought you guys would be interested.. nevermind

As Paul Harvey would say "...and now you know the rest of the story."

The best way to neutralize him is to make 3rd base a non-stop location. Just a touch on the way to home plate.
Good news he didn't tackle Knighten as she rounded third on her walk off!!!!! :D

Here we go again. With two or no SEC teams in a tournament game, we had tight strike zones. Now it's SEC vs ACC and suddenly, we have the SEC pitcher getting strikes called three inches out of the zone, twice in the first at bat.

I am not sure why they bother to superimpose the strike zone graphic on screen. It has absolutely no bearing on how ptiches are called. The umpiring in these games is a travesty.

The umpires have been doing a fair job and although some of the calls on strikes and balls have been questionable, it's been pretty much the same for everyone. On a side note, Parker looks a bit fatigued

Dear ESPN (ESPN2) - I hate that box. Drop it.
A couple of things I have noticed:
1. Their box is pretty much square. Strike zones are rectangular for 99.99% of people.
2. A lot of strikes being called - all weekend - are outside the box. It is hard to tell if the umpires are really as bad as ESPN's box is showing, because their box is not accurate.
I am inclined to think the box is not accurate, so it should just go away.
Or at least handle like MLB teams do and include the box only on replays.

I wish they would get rid of it. It is easier to tell if the umpires are good or bad just watching pitches.
The box on the screen draws the viewer's attention to the box and takes away from watching the true strike zone.

I am not a regular on this board so I can only speak for myself but you are not going to get many OU fans to side with Auburn as it relates to Alabama. Yes, glad our ladies won that game but there's a fairly close bond between OU fans and Alabama for reasons far too numerous to go into here.

My point is that the graphic insert should be totally relevant and from my experience its the same one ESPN uses regularly in their MLB coverage. I just think the umpiring is atrocious.
