I have to stress that anyone claiming to have concrete info in Mayfield's status is just spitballing. This situation will rely on Mayfield having or not having symptoms over the next few days.

What OU doctors do is give baseline tests to see if Mayfield shows the same responses he gave during pre-concussion testing. If he passes those tests and doesn't have symptoms like headaches or nasuea, then he will be cleared (I believe by Tuesday or Wednesday at the earliest).

I have talked to a couple of different people that have been through this before. I was told that if Mayfield remembers playing and doesn't have any memory loss from the game, then he'll be just fine.

You can have a concussion where you know what is happening but you just don't feel sharp or normal. Some people think this is what happened to Mayfield.

But only time is going to tell if those symptoms persist. That's the key in all of this. And that's going to be something only time is going to answer.

Things sound positive so far though.
