Athlete Billy Bowman commits to OU

Bowman is on Texas Football's first team offense and says:
"Bowman is the type of player who could stay on the field the whole game. He stars on both sides of the ball and is an electric return man. Bowman could be an All American at wide receiver or cornerback. Could play both in college ?"
WR Cody Jackson (already committed), RB Camar Wheaton, OG Bryce Foster, OL Savion Byrdare also on the first team.
OT Cullen Montgomery (already committed) is on the second team offense.
On defense, OU has LB Clayton Smith and DB Latrell McCutchen from TF's first team defense.
There is speculation that OU will finish its 2021 recruiting class very strongly. 15 commitments as of today and lots of room for more.
OU has made its presence felt strongly this year in the state of Texas and on the heals of Texas losing a 5-star QB commitment on Ewers, as well as OU winning 5 of its last 6 games vs. Texas, the future looks potentially great.
Factor in OU's two losses this year as the result of at least two suspended players, OU is still in the mix for a good season, with or without a playoff berth.

Can we flip his teammate?

Sanders is a 5 star. Listed as the #1 athlete, 24/7. Plays TE and DE. Projected as a TE. 24/7 would rank him #1 TE and #3 DE.

Getting Bowman was a given. IDK why Riley waited so long to offer. His GF is on campus and was Patti, star recruit. She was the #1 softball recruit in the nation.

Sanders' defection to OU could happen in the wake of Bowman's commitment and with Grinch's defense playing better over the last two games and with some big stops against Texas.
The next two months will be fun to watch both on and off the field....and 2021 and beyond look really promising.

I'm liking Sanders' flip to OU.

Whats he going to play on defense? He is only 5'10. I think we have had our fill of short corners.

How tall was the greatest corner we ever fielded? Remember Derrick Strait? What was he 5' 9"? Kid never made a mistake. Dang, he played probably the most perfect season a corner coulda played in 2003. We were ridiculously talented back then. Dang almighty, Thorpe, Nagurski, All American.

Bowman's speed and aptitude at whatever position he plays are what coaches look at, not his 5'10" height. The fact he's listed as an "athlete" and coaches view him as a two-way talent reflects this.
Obviously, a height of 6'0"-plus is more ideal, but a player's great talent can override size.

Bowman is an elite player. Hope we can get Wheaton and a few higher end DL and LB in the fold. Congrats to Coaches for bringing in Bowman. Speed to burn now !!

So far, we've cleaned up on the Dline and LB. We need a great safety, to round out this class. Another CB, would be nice, to add to the defense.

Needs
Oline
RB
TE/HB
Safety

With 15 commitments so far, doesn't that leave about 10 more to give ?
I'd like to see 2 more OL's, Camar Wheaton, 2 more DE/DT's and 2 more DB's.
Whatever happens, I think OU will have a great 2021 class.

The consensus on the Texas boards (for whatever that's worth) is that he has a considerably higher ceiling on defense than offense. Of course, everyone raves about his kick return skills. In any case, it'll be very interesting to see which side of the ball he settles into.

Not w/ 44

Bowman has a Rival rating of 6.0
44 had a Rival rating of 6.1

44’s talent level was greatly exaggerated.

I think he has talent but due to his size he can't compete with top level talent in CFB. His size puts limitations on him, puts him in bad postion and ultimately frustrates him to a level of penalty costing emotional plays.
