How does LSU jump ahead of OU from 13 and Georgia stay ranked above OU..... maybe they want an all s$c playoff?

I give up trying to figure out rationale for poll rankings. No common sense is seen. Only that the SEC Big 10 slant is tightening as their glory boys lost. Not that I think Big 12 has much CFB Playoff hopes or dreams.

Maybe because they beat Miami, Auburn, and Georgia and we lost to the only good team we've played.

I don't have any problems with LSU being ranked ahead of OU at this point as they have actually beaten some ranked teams ( well at the time those teams were ranked ) and beating UGA was huge for them. Now the fall of UGA in the polls could be expected by these SEC pollsters in the AP. They have shown over time that they do not drop SEC teams for a loss in the same way as they drop others.

In the end though this poll just like the coaches poll mean nothing outside of getting us fans to talk. What will be interesting though is when the CFP poll is released and say LSU drops another game before then while UGA just squeezes by it's opponents how they will view those teams. Right now the top 4 is a no brainer and if those teams keep winning that will be the playoffs. I do wonder though where OU would be setting at this point had they not lost to Texas.

The Coaches Poll has always been the biggest joke in history. These coaches dont even do most of the voting and hand that duty off to others. They dont have time to watch the other games and if anyone has an agenda to voting its the coaches.

If this committee ( which by the way I dont like) is influenced by them then its worse of a system than I think it is now. Fans who think a committee or the polls is a legitimate way of selecting the playoff teams likely favor it because it favors brand name schools. There is a reason that committee doesnt allow reporters in that room to report on the selection process.
