I was thinking about this earlier today. I think Dennis Simmons is either with or slightly behind Bedengod as the best assistant on staff. It's kind of crazy to think what he's done since he's been here. Developed Dede into the Biletnikoff winner and has done an absolute fantastic job into turning CeeDee & Brown into All American type players. Imagine what he's going to do with Wease, Bridges, and Henderson. I feel like we really sleep on how good he is at getting talent out of guys.
I know he's been pretty miss on some guys but honestly I think that might have been more to do with them than Simmons as a whole. It feels like if you put in the work with him you'll get rewarded in some way.
I know we're all in the hate Mike Stoops mode right now, and rightly so, but damn we should step back and appreciate him, IMO. Dude is a stud.
And honestly our entire offensive staff if filled with studs. We're pretty damn lucky on the offensive side of the ball.
