There was a long time female poster with the handle Sooner63. She was married to I believe his handle was Resound or something similar. We started a new message board that he funded, but wanted me there because I posted a lot. We agreed that we wanted a Sooner board, but one that you could post about anything, including religion or politics. I used to stay in their house a couple of blocks from the west side of the dorms. A pretty easy walk to the stadium from there.
But since he funding the board, he had the last say. We were political opposites and faith opposites. One day on the board, I posted that it takes more faith to believe that everything evolved from chance, rather than that God did it. He banned me from the board, and I never got to visit their house again. The next couple of times that I came up for a football game, I stayed in OKC. He was a longtime atheist. I believe his first name was Jim. Good guy, but my political and faith view opposite.
There was another female poster who before that, started he own board. I believe it was called OU Boards. I believe her name was Jane Ann. But these days, my memory is not too good. If I saw her handle, I think I'd remember it, but not sure. Her board lasted at least a decade. Both women were as I remember, sorority women at OU. And it was important to them. I liked their posts, which showed a lot of common sense. But there were a ton of longtime posters on one of a few Sooner-themed boards, but if you weren't there, you might not have even known about them. And with the selling that's gone on the last couple of years, with those that ran different boards, who was on the free boards, tended to have a confusing alignment. I'm just glad I get to post on a board where Frou is. Sooner63 was one of about four ladies who bought tickets for us in the 2002 Tulsa game at Chapman, and a bunch of posters got to site together in the top row of the stadium on the west side of the stadium. Meeting Frou for me was that highlight that night.
My remembrance, is that we only led 3-0 at the half, and there was a DL for TU that was dominating OUr offense. Then he got hurt close to halftime, and we won 37-0. We ended up with two conference losses, but beat Washington State in the Rose Bowl. Me memory for old Sooner games is often better than memory for life in general.
