Man, away games in this league are beastly.
Then again, such as they are for anyone that comes to the Lloyd.

No "off" games this season.

It's why I'm not worried if we drop a few more games.

I'd be just fine sacrificing a few wins and a conference title to prep the depth and get ready for a title run.

Gonna need Buford, Christian James and Manyang in the long run.

Nah, it's just that your inimitable style intimidates some of the lessers here.
They know who they are.

Well damn if the Sooners would ever do anything right!

I'm not sure why we're not petitioning to get the athletic department to shut it all down.

I mean hell we couldn't even win the national title and now we're recruiting 4* star receivers!!!! We're a national punchline!

If I was Lon, I'd get in Lattin's face a little at the half. He is a pretty solid shooter from 12 feet. He has been getting an open look from there and won't take the dang shot.

I love his game. And I love his effort. But he cannot defer to all these seniors when he gets an open look in the paint.

Cousins still isn't all the way back, but he's made a couple of treys and it really helps the cause.

I don't think we can count on Woodard to shoot over 80% from the arc after halftime, so some of the other guys need to start chipping in. After Hield went out with he second PF, it looked like maybe Baylor's defense got a little less focused. They'd been leaning to Buddy's side with a big guy over there with length to get in Hield's face from the arc. Once he went out, where does the big guy lean? Woodard got that first trey on his second attempt from outside the arc, that kind of rolled around and dropped. After that, he was net only.

Cousins seems to have found his rhythm and is the big-time contributor I was expecting him to be. Woodard has been lights out tonight and I'm glad to see Lattin taking those 8-10 jumpers. But outside of one three, where has Spangler been the last couple games?

Coach switched up a couple of things late in the game and left Spangler outside....wide open 3's he made at least two that I can remember. He seems to have confidence issues here and there...I say shoot the effing ball if you are wide open.

Baylor went to a triangle and two defense. So with each of the two in opposite corners, the pick and pop was wide open a little above the free throw line extended about halfway between the FTLE and the top of the key, just outside the arc.

Baylor came from behind to win at Iowa State with a triangle and two, so my guess is that Lon had them work on that pretty hard in practice. Ryan has to take the shot because he's wide open and he can make it. He missed the first two, I believe, one I know for sure. But he'd gotten his range and nailed the next two. But before that, it was he and Kahdeem shooting those 12 footers not from the lane but from the baseline. Baylor was leaving them wide open to cover the guards from the arc. They are good at making those shots. They have to take them.

My remembrance is that Spangler did some of this a year ago, shooting the ball well in November and December and then just being totally unaggressive shooting one the conference games started. He cannot play like that. This team needs both of them to shoot that open shot from more than ten feet. And Ryan as far away as the three ball. The HAVE to. We don't want them passing on it until the NCAA's and then having teams just give them freebies while they only look to pass.

Ryan is such a terrific player, especially as a rebounder. But he goes through stretcher where his confidence in his shot is non existent and he almost will not shoot. He can't back away after a couple of misses. Today was a really good game for the time, because he shot after a couple of misses and they went in.

I think it was Wisconsin where he scored like 12 of our first 15. That made the defense play him honestly and we blew away last year's national runner-up. And Lattin's offense, when he looks for it, is really sound.

Today, before the subs gave up a 14-0 run at the end, these guys looked like the beat team in the country. Baylor isn't elite, but in Waco, they are really hard to beat. The Sooners today, made it look easy. Winning at Baylor could be the difference between first place in the conference and not.
