Lots of fans will be upset with OU being named in this one. Personally, I think we are as deserving as any other program out there. Over my lifetime there has not been a school as consistently good as OU. We have long stretches of greatness and a few of not so great. With the exception of the four years of Snelly and Blank we have been right there more than any other program.
I don't believe that there is any school out there with four head coaches with more than 100 wins. OU has four head coaches with more than 120 win careers. Four coaches take care of 71 years of 123 years of OU football. That is 58% of the total years in the hands of four coaches. That is real consistency.
Out of 23 head coaches, seven held the job for one year. Nine were here for less than five years, most in the early years of the game. That is pretty remarkable.
