And it was visible on the tube, too

OU players laughing on the sideline when we were down 18 points. I saw the same thing on TV. Some kid standing next to Austin Kendall laughing it up while they getting drilled.

I was outside on the phone, arguing with a UT friend about who was the best college football coach right now, during that part of the game... I'll watch it tomorrow. Unbelievable though. Of course, it was the holder's fault.

Mixon's ball drop before he crossed the goal line, which occurred in front of a trailing referee, needs to be addressed by OU's well-paid coaching staff as much, if not more, than a few players laughing on the sidelines while the team is getting mauled.
It's bad enough to watch a sloppy, undisciplined and, once again, overrated product on the field....but seeing players deciding to release the ball before crossing the goal line is inexcusable and reflects badly on the coaches. I wish Mixon's stupidity had been detected and the touchdown taken away because it's obvious these players will keep doing stuff like this as long as coaches ignore teaching them the rules....the basic rules....of the game.
This team and these players aren't good enough to showboat.
OU lost to a better team, a team better prepared, more motivated and more fundamentally schooled. OU was beaten every way a team could be beaten.....at home, in the newly renovated and expanded stadium.
No doubt some here will feel the need to remind us how great OU football is and of Stoops' great legacy, while at the same time attacking the worth and loyalty of concerned fans who see that all is not well, or that OU seemingly has become as good as it can get with its 80% winning percentage with upset and/or blowout losses a common occurrence every season.
This team could win out the rest of the way (not likely, but possible), go to a bowl (hopefully against UConn or a similar juggernaut), have a decent recruiting haul and head into 2017 with more great expectations, at least until OU's visit to Columbus Ohio next September.

So glad I didn't see this game, especially the ball drop, otherwise there might be a broken TV in my house. Somebody, please, please, please, Jesus Christ please tell me why it is so effing difficult to carry a football an extra ten yards to the endline!!??!!

Or even one extra yard.
Same thing happened in the Tennessee game of 2014 on Hayes' interception return.

Well, like I said before captured on TV, a player sitting and yawning. Urban KNOWS how to fire a team up and they are well coached. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR TEAM. MIXON just show boating, undisciplined punk.

Our coaches told us to hold onto the frickin ball until you run into a cheerleader. The whole dropping the ball as soon as you cross the goal line is a bunch of showboating crap that is a cancer on sports. And I remember that pick six against Tenn all too well. I threw a shoe at the TV. Fortunately I was wearing Crocs that night.

CT

Your thoughts are right on. I dont post much because you, Veritas, Oklabama and a few others usually pretty much express the way I feel.

My seats were (way above) on the 10 yard of the north end zone - one thing I noticed: every time we kick-off'd the coverage petered out around the 20. Everyone seemed to be expecting a touchback apparently. Finally tOSU muffs a KO, runs back to inside the 5 to get the ball and turns around and there are no OU players. tOSU runs it back out to the 40. Indicative of lack of coaching and player commitment seen throughout the night.
