for the Heisman top 5.

Jason White and Sam Bradford winning the Heisman and Josh Heupel finishing second and, Adrian Peterson finishing second Jason White finishing 3rd in another year Baker Mayfield finishing 4th and finishing 3rd in the last two seasons and Dede Westbrook finishing 4th last season.

Bob is also the Nation's active winningest head coach

We Sooners are lucky to have him.

Knute Rockne with .881 (13 years at ND)
Frank Leahy with .864 (at BC for 2 years and ND for 11 years)
Urban Meyer with .854 (at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, Ohio State totaling 14 years))
Barry Switzer with .837 (16 years)
Tom Osborne with .836 (25 years)
Robert Neyland with .829 (21 years at Tennessee)
Bud Wilkinson with .826 (17 years)
Bob Devaney with .806 (17 years)
Bob Stoops with .796 (17 years)

Osborne's longevity and .836 winning percentage is very impressive.....and was greatly facilitated by both Oklahoma's probation in 1989 and Switzer's absence during Osborne's last 9 years in which he won 8 of 9 games against the Sooners.

Ok, I figured out what he means.
Winningest ACTIVE Coach with at least 189 Wins. :)

1. Bob Stoops 189 0.797
2. Nick Saban 209 0.776
3. Brian Kelly 230 0.722
4. Bill Snyder 202 0.657
That's sort of like that stat you hear during a baseball game when they mention the batter "leads the league in batting average in this situation with runners on 2nd and third, one out, in the 5th inning, during a night game away from home....

Bull, I don't believe Bob is the winningest active HC. He is at one school, but several HC's have more wins, who've been at more than one place. Bill Snyder has more wins total than Bob has at one place, but not in consecutive seasons. Snyder has 202 wins and Bob is at 190. Brian Kelly has 230 at several schools. Nick Saban has 205.

If you're talking about winning pct, then Urban Meyer at .850 is higher than Bob's .798.

Bob is a great great coach and we are incredibly lucky to have him. But he is not the winningest active coach in college football.

You are correct my old friend Plaino.

Bob is the winningest active head coach accomplishing this at only one school.

Well he already did once, and KState was retreating back to what they'd been before and it killed him, so he returned.

They did however continue to give the Longhorns a hard time. Gotta love the Wildcats.

If I were a Kansas State fan, Snyder's retirement....whenever it happens....will be a scary time.
My hope would be that Snyder has successfully groomed his son and assistant head coach, Sean Snyder, to carry on.
