From what I have seen so far in this age of alternate uniforms, Alabama and the Yankees are the only teams that have maintained their uniform style. The Yankees, like all MLB teams, occasionally wear hats to commemorate the 4th of July or breast cancer awareness and to honor Jackie Robinson with each player wearing number 42, but that's as far as it goes during the regular and post seasons. I have seen retro uniforms as well on the Yankees, but I take no issue in celebrating baseball history that way.
Alabama attracts recruits by winning and playing well....not by conducting a costume party....and wearing black shoes with white socks. (Dark socks on football players are a pet peeve of mine. It looks awful.) There is not one aspect of Alabama football that I wouldn't want for OU.....not even the five Heisman awards.
