I know this seems to be a daily topic, but who is it we really want, and who is likely to take over?

We all know the normal names we have gone over, like Alex Grinch, Tim Deruyter, Pete Golding, but who else?

There are some good young up and coming coaches, kind of like Lincoln Riley when we found him at East Carolina. There are some seasoned veterans as well.

Here are four more coaches that could end up making an impact as the OU DC, in no particular order:

Troy Reffett, currently the DC at North Texas. Before being at North Texas he was the DC at ULM and New Mexico. His defenses have consistently been among the top 40 in total defense, top 25 in sacks and turnovers. He has been successful with less resources than what he would have at OU. Has very good relationships with Texas high school coaches.

Adam Fuller, currently the DC at Marshall. Has a good presence in Florida for recruiting. He has helped Marshall maintain a top 25 defense every year he has been there. Before Marshall he was the DC at Chattanooga. While at UTC, he led the defense to top 20 finishes on a consistent basis.

Morgan Scalley, currently the DC at Utah. Has been on staff there for all 11 years of his coaching career. This is his third season as the DC. Each year Utah has been in the top 30 nationally defensively. Has good relationships with high school coaches up and down the west coast.

Marcus Freeman, currently the DC at Cincinnati U. He is in his second season there. Prior, he was co-DC at Purdue. This guy is among the up and comers. Graduated at tOSU in 2008. Currently has Cincy among the top 25 defenses in the country. Good recruiter of talent in the Ohio Valley.
