This will make some people happy, because they think Mike Defee has it in for OUr Sooners.

I think he's the best official in college football. I mostly love his hands off, don't-call-it-unless-it-makes-a-distinctive-difference-on-the-play, way of viewing the game. And I think it mostly helped OU.

The article I read, but cannot link, summarizing several reports, claimed that the NFL has sought him for a while, but something apparently changed. I think maybe his crew had been changed a bit, so he's heading elsewhere.

The conference is worse for his departure, IMO.

I have always like Defee and his crew. In my opinion they were the best crew in the Big XII.
