The Sooners first game with interim defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill was a success as they trounced Kansas State 51-14. Oklahoma does not have to be a great defensive team; it just has to be good enough to let its offense do its thing.

If we win out we just need Michigan to lose. Can't believe they are -10 at home vs PSU this Saturday (2:45PM central kickoff); I'd take the points but we need the upset. Unfortunately PSU's offense is like UT's - relying on running a dinged up QB, and UM is stout against the run. I'm not sure if I can pull for the Bucknuts for their season finale.

I always call it the Black Hole of Lubbock. Refs lose their brains and brainless fans go off the deep end. It is never a fun place to play on the ole Caprock. We are lucky both Riley and Ruffin are experienced out there lol. Just not as the bad guys. Hope we bust them in the chops early !!
We need Bama to win out. That would take care of LSU, Georgia, and Kentucky, as they would all have at least two losses. GA/KY is an elimination game this weekend. Bama can eliminate LSU this weekend and as long as they win the SEC Championship game, the SEC will only have one. I don't see how Wazzu would be ahead of us IF we can manage to win out. If we do win out, I've got Bama, Clemson, ND (if they win out), and OU or B1G Champ if tOSU or Meechigan win out , which means we'd get Bama in the 1st round. Lots of ifs............

If there is an obvious binary defensive performance pre and post Mike Stoops, then voters will start jumping on our bandwagon quickly. Everybody knows we have the best offense and are capable of matching with anyone. We're just in the mode of proving our defense can do enough. With Mike, it couldn't. Without Mike, time will tell.
So to me, it's not just win out. It's win out without getting into shootouts. If we do that, then we don't even need to worry about what other teams do.

As long as we win out I really think we'll be fine. There is no way that Michigan will not lose to either Penn State or Ohio State. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan lose both games. Bama will take care of LSU this week, and then spank Georgia in the SEC title game.
