Got some more positive news coming in tomorrow's 2-for-Tuesdays column, but in the meantime, let's just take care of all the negative info in one fell swoop today.

I'm told that whatever momentum the Sooners had with Ivan Carreon has effectively abated in the aftermath of his official visit to Texas Tech. This wasn't a flip that we were counting on anyway, but it sounds as though the Texas Tech staff has been able to stem the tide, and that the Sooners ultimately got in the game too late with Carreon to have a strong shot at swaying him.

If the Sooners end up with a fourth receiver in this class, I'd say Dozie Ezukanma and Isaiah McMorris are probably the most likely candidates at the moment.

UPDATE: Okay, so I wrote all of that last night after checking in with a good source on the Texas Tech side. That same source hit me back this afternoon to inform me that Carreon had been laying tentative plans for an official visit to Oklahoma... without telling the Texas Tech staff. Apparently the Red Raiders caught wind of it today, and especially given that they were kept out of the loop, they feel very differently about Carreon visiting Oklahoma than Purdue. I'm told the Tech staff actually encouraged Carreon to take his Purdue official (currently set for June 16-18), but upon their finding out about his plans to visit OU, there's been a bit of dissension between Tech and the three-star wideout. The exact phrase used was, "They're pissed."

This might amount to nothing in the end, but as quickly as the buzz appeared to have died, this has once again become a situation to monitor. I think the question now becomes whether Texas Tech is simply content to let Carreon go his own way, which I'm told is very much a possibility. If that does happen, expect OU and Purdue to battle things out down the stretch... and as bizarre as it sounds, don't totally discount Purdue. Carreon's got a very strong relationship with Boilermaker QB commit Marcos Davila.

The recruiting rollercoaster is never lacking in drama.
