I hope we hang onto her...would be great to see her develop in our program. Right now, no one will be at UConn's level.

When Nancy is a sophomore, she will have:

Ana Llanusa 6-0 G FR #6 rated prospect in the nation
Chelsea Dungee 5-11 or 5-10 G SOPH rated anywhere from #9 to #27 in the country.
Gabbi Ortiz 5-8 G SR May be the Big Twelve player of the year by then.
Maddie Manning 6-2 F/G Redshirt SR A contender for POY

In addition to any other recruits that we get for the 2015-2016-2017 classes.

If you put a 6-10 shot blocker in the lane, it frees up everyone else to chase the ball. On offense, if you have a 6-10 player at high post who is capable of hitting about 90% of her free throws and 70% of her field goals from fifteen feet, you free up everyone else to drive the lane. You free up your power forward to get whatever rebounds you don't get. You are in a perfect position to pass to cutting guards or forwards which you can see with your rather unobstructed vision. This is the Alvan Adams offense with a player who is comparatively taller than Alvan was (both being 6-9 or 6-10, but that is very rare for a female). It worked, even at Phoenix to have a point center.

Mulkey changes the game. If we have the players around her, even UConn would have matchup problems with 6-10.

She is a really good high school player, but she is a long ways from being a dominant college player. She is very tall and very long. But she is also lanky and very slender, and that typically means not quick. She has nice skills. She can dribble the ball up the court with competence. She has a nice touch on her shot, and decent footwork overall.

But a 6-4 or 6-5 college girl with strength will give her a lot of trouble defensively. She could certainly get there, but she's going to need to be quicker and a lot stronger. I believe she'll be a big asset to OUr program. She's a quality lady and from what I hear, a great student. She moves a lot like Nicole Griffin, though she is a more accomplished shooter and ball handler, and is three inches taller and by appearances four or five inches longer.

Nicole was a solid college player, but not close to dominant against good teams. For Nancy to have a chance to become that, she will need some additional physicality., IMO.

But I'm very glad she's a Sooner.

Have you actually seen her? She has now made two national teams, meaning that she was regarded by the coaches of those teams as one of the top twelve players of that age in the country (2013 and 2014). She is not a skinny kid who gets pushed around. She often rips the ball away on rebounds, demanding it. She may be tall and appear thin. When you are 6-9 or 6-10, you look skinny unless you are huge. But, she is as strong as about anyone that she has faced. She is pretty quick, and it shows on defense. She can block shots on opposite sides of the lane occurring only tenths of a second apart. Her hands seek the ball, much like Courtney's. They don't just wave around. They seek the ball like guided missles. She plays tall because she is. Her wingspan is such that she can stand still under the basket and block shots on either side. She holds the ball high and often passes without ever having the ball lower than head level or higher. An outlet pass after a rebound may never get as low as eight feet.

The key is that her aunt and mother were both college stars, and they know how to use height. Her mother and brothers are all 6-5 or taller. Dad is only 5-10. Her aunt is 6-6.

When will the 2015-16 women's schedule come out ?
I want to see another UConn-OU game mainly to determine how far OU is to being at UConn's level, which frankly, I don't see ever happening while Auriemma is at UConn.
I attended the 2008 OU-UConn game in Hartford, won by UConn 106-78 in a game that had UConn scoring 50 points in the first half and 56 points in the second half. I also met Stacy Hansmeyer and Joe Castigleone prior to the game. I was surprised at their willingness to talk with me given the situation. Those are two classy people....and Hansmeyer has big hands.

It takes great talent and great leadership to beat Geno. He has both, and he is the best. If we were to surround someone 6-10 with talent, he might have difficulty figuring out how to beat it. ND did beat him three times one year, only to lose in the NCAA title game.
