The problem is that they are ranked #4 in RPI and that is what the committee uses to determine the seeding for the ncaa regional and super regional .

Is Patty Gasso is one of if not the best coach in OU's history? I appreciate the ranking but they got destroyed by UCLA and I can't see OU being ranked above them.
Being ranked 1 is really no better than 8 in softball at seasons end. The top 8 seeds not only get a regional ( regionals are awarded to 1-16 seeds) but they also get to host the Super Regionals if they get out of the regionals.
Once you get to the WS the rankings are really meaningless in my opinion.
