And btw, which of those coaches is the only one to win the Orange, Sugar, Rose, Fiesta and Cotton Bowls? I know you're down on BStoops right now, but you intentionally excluded the best time of his career. And who was the coach voted by his fellow coaches a little over a year ago, as the one coach in country that those coaches would most choose for their son to play? And who has played in the most post season national championship playoffs, if we include the final two and the final four? Is he tied with Saban?

I know you want to be the national champion every year. Just be glad that Bob values his family so much, that instead of taking offers from places in Ohio or Florida or California, with recruiting hotbeds that would have made multiple NC's a lot more likely, or maybe even ND or in Texas, that he stayed at OU for 17 years. I can selectively take statistics and show a lot of things.

I love Bob for a lot of reasons. That he is now tied with Kirk Ferentz and being the longest tenured coach at the same school. We're damn lucky that's the case. Maybe we could lure Make back out of retirement. You ain't gettin' Saban or Meyer. Who else would you take? We can all only hope that you don't get what you wish for.

but you intentionally excluded the best time of his career.

I didn't intentionally exclude the best point of his career. The list drops to 6 coaches that have coached as many bowl games as Stoops in recent history; Stoops, Saban, Paterno, Snyder, Mack and Spurrier. I dropped the qualification to 10 in order to get enough coaches on the list for more of a comparison. I don't think it's any surprise that it's not Stoops' overall history that people are disappointed with, but rather his unarguable decline.

I still love those same qualities about Bob. I just don't like the feeling he leaves me with at the end of a season more often than not, and I haven't wished for anything yet.

I'll say for as much reverence as Bill Snyder receives, I was shocked to see him scraping the bottom of these lists along with Bob.
I was also surprised to see Mark Richt topping the lists for as much abuse as he takes for losing the big games.

I can understand using the past 5 seasons or so to illustrate an unarguable decline of OUs football program under Bob Stoops. And I don't think anyone will deny that the program got a bit stagnant for a few years. It's easy to look at what happened to Clemson and how it gives you the same exact feel of previous years at this time. But I think the difference is this year OU really did overachieve with what everyone thought was possible at the beginning of the year. How many times in the last 6-7 seasons did you feel that OU overachieved at seasons end?? Sure it's easy to toss this season up as another disappointment if you only base it on the Clemson loss. Or you could look at it in the context of a huge leap forward for the program after all the changes Bob has made in the last few years with his staff. Nobody knows what the future holds, but I said this before that years down the road we may be looking back at the 2015 season as the beginning of another bigtime run of OU football under Bob Stoops.

I hope so, but you can bank on me being negative nancy going into every big game or bowl under Bob Stoops from now on. He's made me look like an idiot enough.

I have no problem with that mentality. And I"m not going to be one to call you and idiot or stupid for taking that approach either. I think after you endure a certain number of disappointing losses, it can start to chip away at your ability to think positive about things. Let's hope Bob can start reeling in some great wins in future years.
