31 Oregon players unavailable for Alamo Bowl

So, one more absentee and Oregon is regarded as being fearful of playing OU ?
Yeah, that’s about it. LOL. Actually it comes down to position availability according to what I read. Maybe OU can share a couple players like our band is going to do for the Oregon band. 😂

Your question is directed. But it's like asking if mustard tastes like ketchup since they're both condiments.
I would say no.
1. The Ducks staff, coaches, prayers, band and fans traveled. They are in San Antonio
2. They didn't cancel w/ 9 days left
3. More importantly, they aren't in a battle for media, bragging rights, in the state of Texas against the U of Texas.

Interestingly ... less than a week AFTER Aggie quits... the CDC cuts in half quarantine requirements and drops it from 10 days to 5 days. Aggie could have played. Aggie should have played.

The Ducks WILL play.

All great points here...tune in at 2015 and pop a brew 🍺

Texas A&M was down to 38 players and according to Coach Fisher and AD Ross Bjork, the team had 13 scholarship defensive players available due to Covid, injuries, transfers and opt-outs.
That's 2 players providing all the depth the Aggies needed. Fisher is such a coward.
And it's always smart to judge a 10-3 team by its history rather than its current team.

Just throwing it out there, A&M had already earned bragging rights over Texas for 2021. A&M had won 8 games compared to 5 for the Longhorns. The Gator Bowl would not have changed that. In addition, A&M earned a bowl bid. Texas didn’t qualify for a bowl. I just don’t see how bragging rights were any factor in A&M’s decision to cancel. I have Longhorns friends that are pissed about the season and A&M isn’t on their mind right now. They are not happy with Sark or his boss.

As bleak as Texas issues are now....and I hope they remain bleak at least for the rest of my days....recruiting for the Horns is going well over the years and I think that someday, Texas figures out a way to shed its Matthew Mcconaughey-style entitlement arrogance and start playing big boy football, especially as it enters the SEC. There's no shortage of talent on the Texas roster, and never has been.

My local sportscaster just claimed the game is still on. Interviewed Jeremiah Hall at todays luncheon who stated without being specific about players talking about their futures and that he hopes this team stays together for one last hoorah. Take that for what it's worth. Bob looked pretty spiffy in a silver suit also.

I do think that y’all are missing out on how big of a deal it is to Aggie that the Horns are SEC bound. But whatever,

38/13 … that was a week ago. Those numbers (if even believable) have changed now.

I’ve always believed that ATM left the Big 12 to get out from under Texas domination and to establish its own identity outside of being in the shadow of Texas. The Aggies’ hatred of Texas is even referred to in the ATM fight song.
But this just doesn’t have anything to do with ATM bailing out of its game with Wake Forest due to a diminished roster…for whatever reason(s).
ATM needs to forget it’s failures to Texas as a member of both the SWC and the Big 12 conferences. None of the players today remember or care about history, as most young people do these days. A resurrection of a great old rivalry is coming and it’s good for CFB.

is coming?

This is what I'm talking about. It never left. The fn base, alumni, and admins have never let it die. If nothing it seriously magnified when word leaked out that OU & UT was moving to the SEC.

You're out of touch on this one CT.

I'll also remind you that Aggie lost to Miss St, at home no less to the same team that is being throttled by Texas Tech right now. Aggie didn't want another loss.

ATM and Texas haven’t played since ATM left the Big 12. When Texas joins the SEC, the ATM- Texas rivalry will be restored, where it matters most….on the field.

This isn't accurate according to the interim coach. He said today that number isn't there's not that many that are out for the game.

Q. Bryan, it seems the speculation has been all over the place with 31 players missing practice. To hear you now, there’s four players that for some reason aren’t there. How do you account for the other 27 or 20 whatever? Are there 31 players that will miss this?

BRYAN McCLENDON: It won’t be quite that much. I’ll say this, they probably missed some time in one way, shape or form coming back from some injuries, things of that nature.

You get in Bennett Williams back, who he wasn’t unavailable, but you’re getting him back. They’ve missed time in one way, shape or form. To act like we’re going in there how we were in Ohio State, that will be false also.

I mean, we’re having to dig into some depth at some different spots. But most of it is all bumps and bruises associated with play.
