30 Best Games in School History

Great read. I'm sure some of the historians on the board will have some additional observations. Is the article missing any significant game? What would you rank as the best? For me, the 1971 OU/Neb game is hard to beat.

I agree with you about that 1971 Sooner/Husker game. It is probably my all-time favorite game, even though OU lost I felt they should have won...... if only Pruitt had finished making that tackle on the TD punt return by Johnny Rodgers, ( which, imo, was the difference maker in the game).

I would take exception with some of these choices considering games left off the list that were far more relevant and exciting. In the early 50's we had some great games with T A&M, TCU, CU, and one with a Bobby Reynolds led Nebraska team that was epic. Merrill Green saved our bacon vs the Buffs and many think the A&M game inight Norman was the greatest game ever played on Owen Field. Joe Don Looney vs Syracuse, J.C.Watts twice vs FSU, Lil Joe in Columbia. The 7-7 tie with SC. I could go on and on.

I was surprised, but kind of glad to see some losses in the list of "best games." I would have replaced a couple of the games and would have added The Ice Bowl, the 7-7 game with USC and the 21-20 come-from-behind win against OSU in the Stool (1981?).

Too many great games for me to pick a Top number. But my list would be quite different. Some not on the list but already mentioned by others, for example. I would agree that the 2013 season games are some my favorites especially Notre Dame and Alabama.
